The ideal way to discover the Pieniny is through one of the most unique attractions in Europe, namely rafting down the Dunajec river on a traditional raft.
Thousands of years ago, the Dunajec River carved a gorge in its current, which we now call the Dunajec River Gorge, and it is here that rafting trips have been taking place for 200 years, during which we can admire the unique limestone rock formations and natural beauty of the Pieniny.
The Dunajec river rafting owes its uniqueness also to the traditional wooden rafts, which consist of several narrow, interconnected boats and to the rafters who proudly wear their traditional costume and do not skimp on interesting stories and legends to the delight of tourists.
We invite you to a 1-day trip from the Tatra Mountains to the Pieniny Mountains.
We offer a unique way to explore the Pieniny National Park, i.e., from a perspective of traditional rafting on the Dunajec on wooden rafts. A real rafter will take care of your safety, and surprise you with legends about this place.
After rafting on these wooden rafts to Szczawnica, there will be a 1-hour lunch break. Szczawnica is famous for its delicious freshwater trout.
On the way back we will also stop in Niedzica, to visit the local castle from the fourteenth century – known from the Polish TV series “Janosik”.
